History of Cleanline Builders, LLC
Cleanline Builders is the culmination of four generations of skilled craftsmen – beginning with Earl Hutchison, an early 20th century welder and stone mason on California’s Central Coast. Earl passed his mantle to Santa Barbara based sons Bud and Rod. Bud – a skilled carpenter would become nationally known for cabinetry as “The Best West of the Mississippi”. Meanwhile, Rod was establishing his name leading large industrial projects that included the Carpenteria Pier, Santa Barbara harbor, and Stern’s Wharf.
While the second generation of Hutchison builders made their mark on California’s Central Coast, Bud’s son, Scott took the skills he learned at his father’s side and established his venerable reputation in contemporary homebuilding. This was an era of builders and architects transforming the modern home into a great escape, and Scott flourished. Throughout his lengthy career, Scott’s projects and collaborations won him numerous awards in Florida, Oregon and California – including recognition by the Board of Architects for residential projects in Longboat Key, Florida and Washington’s Offshore Islands.
With the notable history and expertise of three generations of builders, it was clear the fourth would continue the legacy. Drew Hutchison; son of Scott Hutchison and founder of Cleanline Builders, was put to work in his father’s jobs as soon as he was old enough to push a broom and swing a hammer. Following his father’s footsteps, Drew led his first job on a remodel that would estimate the new home’s worth at over $7 million.
At Cleanline Builders we’re inspired by our powerful legacy, innovators of sustainability in design, and driven by the artistry of our finished work. Drew, Shaun, and our Cleanline team bring the highest standards of craftsmanship to every job, no matter the size.
